WINE TASTING

Unfortunately, A Taste of Italian Wine due to take place on Sunday, 10th May, 2.00 at Holden Clough Nurseries, has been cancelled.

TALKS

Maureen is giving three talks this year at Holden Clough Nurseries

The first is Keep Your Garden Buzzing on Sunday, 31st May, 2.00pm to 3.30pm

If you want to know which plants to grow in your garden to attract and sustain insect pollinators - including all kinds of bees, butterflies and moths and other insects - this talk is for you.

Based on my latest book, and drawing on wide research, and my own experiences of gardening and beekeeping, Iwill share my knowledge about what type of plants best meet pollinators’ needs in this illustrated talk.

The price includes a copy of my latest book The Little Book of Plants for Pollinators: A Gardener’s Guide for you to keep.

To book your place please click here to go to The Bee Garden's Shop

The second is Culinary Herbs on Sunday, 14th June, 2.00pm to 3.30pm

Remember the song Scarborough Fair, with its mention of parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme? In this illustrated talk we’ll be discovering how to grow and use these, and a garden-ful of other herbs – from basil to winter savory – that we know are safe to use in cooking.

There will be recipe tastings, too!

The price includes a copy of my booklet The Little Booklet of Culinary Herbs for you to keep.

The third is The Buzz about Honey Bees on Sunday, 5th July, 2.00pm to 3.30pm

How do bees make honey? Why do honey bees collect pollen? What’s the ‘waggle dance’?

What plants are best for honey bees?

Find out the answer to these, and lots of other honey bee questions, in this fascinating, illustrated talk.

And you’ll have the opportunity to taste different types of honey, too!

The price includes a jar of Lancashire honey for you to take home.
